Today is Mareva Galanter day here on Ukuleles, Oh My!
Sadly her wonderful Ukuyeye website seems to have been relegated to some memory hole, but it was pretty damn fantastic.
Her Ukuyeye album was really a major force in my love of both French pop and ukulele. I remember spending much of 2006 searching for a copy before I discovered a French music trading site. I needed it.
Sadly, her second album is meh at best. I mean she dropped the ukulele for the most part, how could it be any good. Though the duet with Rufus Wainwright is quite good.
